In 2019 we embarked on an exciting new venture; the restoration of Art Deco cinema seats. Our seats were salvaged from the former Curzon cinema in Eastbourne (originally The Picturedrome which opened in December 1920) and we lovingly restore these seats to the highest quality.
We wanted to be able to offer original vintage cinema seating that stood out from the rest on the market, we believe our attention to detail is what sets us apart. Each seat is sympathetically restored to the highest standard, retaining its character and patina. We reupholster in high quality velvet, with a choice of both plain and patterned fabric, and each original metal component is cleaned and resprayed with professional metallic paint. We can also apply original cinema seat numbers on request. It really is a ‘nut and bolt’ job!
We offer a fully bespoke service, this entails a choice of original Art Deco aisle end panels and two styles of seat upright – curved or rare and sought after scalloped back. Along with this, the metal work finishes and upholstery options we have available allow each customer the opportunity to fully customise their order to fit their specific requirements perfectly.
Over the years we have undertaken many bespoke commissions for both domestic and commercial clients including the Ruby Hotel chain across Europe and the UK, specifically their Ella hotel in Cologne and their Zoe hotel in Notting Hill, Blind Faith tattoo studio and Har Barber barber shop in Fife, Scotland. We have also supplied wedding venues, offices and even narrowboats. We are able to meet all commercial regulations, such as fire retardant velvet.
