A Late 19th Century Antique Army & Navy Pine Fishing Rod Case

To the interior is the original manufacturers paper trade label showing individual prices for each option available to the customer when ordering their rod cases. A lovely addition to still have present.

Well constructed, with elements of iron reinforcement and the ability to be locked, these old rod boxes were the perfect solution to safely transport your beloved fishing rods on steamer ships and railway luggage wagons.

An uncommon find and certainly a lovely addition to a shop window or tackle room.

Overall nice condition with age related wear and tear.

Carry handle still intact.

Lashing straps to the interior still present.

One leather strap detached as the leather has worn. This is still present and has the makers stamp as illustrated in the listing images.

Other leather strap has some loss also illustrated.

No cracks or worm.
